Art and the Media

The media rules and shapes our lives yet we are largely oblivious to this fact.  Disenfranchised youth receive clear instructions on how to create weapons / bombs, (what is required and where to obtain it) :  the latest and most outstanding weaponry  :  the most satisfactory way to physically attack a person and so on.  The bar is raised each time an attack is reported.   If good enough the person’s photo will be visible for all to see their fame / infamy on TV, print media, the internet and social media.

We are puppets of the media.  We are bombarded in all aspects of life with what to buy, what to eat, child rearing, the perfect body / appearance etc.   Children are increasingly ignored while parents watch TV or Social Media.  Pets are ignored while the owner walks them while interacting with their phones and so on.  Children grow up to learn through this parental modelling and the addiction continues to develop.

Confrontation of this problem through my work caused 2 journalists to take up a new profession after covering my work and seeing the problems first hand.  We all need to be aware and stop the media control.
